Innovative education programs

As a longtime leader in Atlanta's secular homeschool community, I've had the chance to meet so many amazing kids who struggle with learning disabilities, mental health struggles, or just not fitting into the right boxes. Many of my students are ADHD, on the spectrum, gifted, dyslexic, queer, and/or just kind of a lot. I love these kids fiercely and over the years have developed dozens of courses, workshops, programs, and communities where all kids can stretch and thrive.

My basic approach is simple:

  • Create spaces where it is safe to make guesses, messes, and mistakes. I insist that students speak kindly to others and to themselves.

  • Co-conspire with kids. Making it cool to like what you like can help kids shift the way they think about themselves and give them phrasing to use when their peers don't get it.

  • Model curiosity, kindness, and never-giving-uppedness

Here are some of my favorite programs based on these ideas.

Bullying Prevention

This bullying prevention approach was the result of extensive research, reaching out to experts, and working with parents and students.
